CyDBF Policy for the Protection and Well-Being of Children
On 27 April 2026, the Cyprus Dragon Boat Federation adopted the Policy for the Protection and Well-being of Children, within the framework of implementing the Healthy Sport Action Plan of the Cyprus Sports Organisation (KOA). This Plan includes KOA’s strategy for taking measures under the principle of good governance, with the aim of:
(a) safeguarding the well-being, safety, protection, and fair and equal treatment of athletes;
(b) preventing and addressing bullying in sport; and
(c) preventing offences provided for under the provisions of the Penal Code (CyLaw 2016b), the Law on the Prevention and Combating of Sexual Abuse, Sexual Exploitation of Children and Child Sexual Abuse Material (CyLaw 2014), the Law on Equal Treatment of Men and Women in Employment and Vocational Training (CyLaw 2002), as well as the provisions of other relevant laws (Healthy Sport Action Plan).
Safeguarding Officer
Mr. Tasos Anastasiou is the Safeguarding Officer of the Cyprus Dragon Boat Federation, bringing a strong background in psychology, education, and child protection. With extensive experience supporting children and individuals with diverse needs, he is committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and positive environment for all members of the federation.
A certified Dragon Boat Race Official since 2022 and International Race Official since 2024, Mr. Anastasiou combines professional expertise with a passion for sport, helping CyDBF uphold the highest standards of welfare, safety, and safeguarding.
